How to Access Yahoo Mail in Outlook 2007
Being a collaborative email application, MS Outlook 2007 enables you to create and configure Yahoo mail in it. This article lets you know the process of accessing Yahoo mail in Outlook 2007. Execute following steps to access your email from Yahoo mail into Outlook 2007:
1. Start MS Outlook 2007.
2. Select Account Settings in the Tools menu.
3. Select the Email tab.
4. Click the New button.
5. Select the Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP option if it not already selected.
6. Click the Next button.
7. Click the Manually configure server settings or additional server types check box.
8. Click the Next button.
9. Select the Internet E-mail option and click the Next button.
10. Type your name in the Your Name text box.
11. Type your Yahoo mail address in the E-mail addresses text box.
12. Select POP3 in the Account Type drop-down list.
13. Type plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com in the Incoming mail server text box.
14. Type smtp.mail.yahoo.com in the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) text box.
15. Type your Yahoo mail address in the User Name text box. While specifying Yahoo mail address must ensure that, you include @yahoo.com with User Name. For example, if your user name is xyz then you have to type xyz@yahoo.com in the User Name text box.
16. Type your Yahoo mail password in the Password text box.
17. Click the More Settings button and select the Outgoing Server tab.
18. Select the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication check box.
19. Now, select the Advanced tab.
20. Type 995 in the Incoming Server (IMAP) field and select Use the following type of encrypted connection (SSL) check box.
21. Type 465 in the Outgoing Server (SMTP) and select SSL in the Use the following type of encrypted connection drop-down list.
22. Click the OK button.
23. Click the Test Account Settings button to check the settings you have configured.
24. After the testing process is completed exit the Test Account Settings dialog box.
25. Click the Next button.
26. Click the Finish button.
27. Restart Outlook 2007.
In this way, you can access yahoomail in Outlook 2007. It may happen that you may be having problem accessing Yahoo mails into Outlook because some of the ISP block SMTP. If you have any problem in accessing mail in Outlook then change the Outgoing Server (SMTP) number to 587 from 465 (Refer point 21) in this article. After changing the Outgoing Server (SMTP) number to 587, restart MS Outlook and access Yahoo mails into Outlook.
